About

Whether it’s shooting hardened criminals, major celebrities or wild animals, it’s all in a days
work for veteran professional photographer and camerawoman, Tahitia Hicks.
Informed by her own experiences as a commercial and TV actor, and inspired by the career of
grandfather, Bill Hicks, former commander of the photography department at NASA, Tahitia
began her professional shooting short films on 35mm at the age of 14. Less than a decade later,

Tahitia landed her first billboard campaign, and worked as a camera operator on the award-
winning documentary “Playing For Change.”

Word of mouth on Tahitia’s talents spread fast, and now, with 20+years of industry experience
behind her working as a photographer, camera op, DP and shooter/producer, she has wisdom to
know that good communication skills, and a positive mental attitude are just as important as
technical proficiency, efficiency, and artistic vision when it comes to capturing the shot and
accomplishing client goals.
In addition to shooting celebrities, musicians and athletes like Alec Baldwin, Jimmy Fallon, Katy
Perry, and Tony Hawk, to name a few, and national ad campaigns for clients Hyundai,
Butterfingers, T-Mobile, Taco Bell, and Ford Motor Company and more, Tahitia’s also made a
name for herself as a camera op and DP in the world of feature documentaries and reality TV.
Tahitia’s work in the unscripted world has ranged from docudramas like “Growing up Hip Hop,”
and network competition shows, “the Apprentice,” to feature documentaries for superstar
recording artists Guns N Roses and Zedd, but her expertise and fearlessness in covering extreme
lifestyles in dangerous places has given her a leg up in the world unscripted adventure television,
where she’s shot shows like “Ice Road Truckers,” “Ax Men,” “Alaska State Troopers,” “Alaska:
The Last Frontier,” and more, for networks like Discovery, NatGeo, History Channel, and NBC.
Two plus decades in, Tahitia’s career has taken her around the world to shoot breathtaking
places, amazing creatures, and inspiring people for blue chip companies, award-winning
agencies, and major networks, and now she’d like to shoot for you.
